Jamie Lynn Spears' Baby Shower

With her July due date drawing closer, Jamie Lynn Spears celebrated her baby shower over the weekend — and, yes, big sister Britney Spears was there. On Saturday afternoon, Jamie Lynn's family and friends gathered at Serenity — the Kentwood, La. estate belonging to Lynne Spears (which Britney purchased) — to fete the 17-year-old mother-to-be. The low-key affair took place in the guest house, where the simple menu included cold cuts, juice and champagne. "It wasn't anything fancy or exciting," a source tells Star. "No big spread or fancy decorations. Just everybody sitting around and talking with each other." And just who is everybody? Well, in addition to the Spears women, the Spears men — father Jamie and brother Bryan — were in attendance. Several of Jamie Lynn's cousins made the guest list as did some of her friends. Dad-to-be Casey Aldridge's mother, Margaret Aldridge, was also there and was inseparable with Lynne. A source says they have been bonding over the phone the past few months, and have grown to be fast friends. Britney, who hasn't been to Kentwood in some time, was a popular party guest. Throughout most of the party she caught up with her cousins. She also made a point not to smoke around her pregnant little sister and even directed other people to smoke outside. "She seemed like Britney again," a source says. "She's gonna be alright." The following day, the Britney and Jamie Lynn bonded while taking a drive together — without either of their parents in tow. Driving a borrowed car, they cruised along Louisiana back roads and made a pit stop at a local Sonic Burger. "Both of them were just glowing, totally happy to be together," says a source. TO ANONYMOUS: Miley didn't pose NUDE. And if you think Jamie's disposition is "Better" than Miley's...I would say you are slow or from the South like Jamie. Because of her teenage pregnancy is going to be a f%#^ing fad this year. Is that positive or responsible? Think about this: Everyone will leave her alone when she disappears from the public eye , which she should now that shes pregnant and all, right?

I got pregnant at 16 with my daughter, and I am what I consider a good mother. I think she will be just fine. =] Her sister made poor decisions, but she to will be fine.

i think jamie lynn will do just fine...being a new parent is hard...but as long as she doesn't listen to all the negative she will be fine!Trust me my daughter is 8 months old and is healthy as can be!

I think that you should have the baby and move on! You are probably hopefully a good mother! Cept you might not want to take after your sister! Your sisters career went bad! So dont let that happen to your career! Well good luck with the baby!!!

well I think we shud just lay off Jamie she's bout 2b a mother n despite of how evryting happened its not like she posed NUDE like Miley Cyrus,but uh mann its not a mistake2 get pregnant,its jus bad 2get it wen ur 2young n on tha otha hand wen ur not financiallt stable!!I'm 19 n kidz r a blessing,if I waz rich like Jamie...I'd been had like 4kidz already,so she can afford it,so give it a rest.

No Jamie will not be a good mother. Besides being a baby herself, what does she have to go on in raising a child? She doesn't exactly have a good roll model!

I think Jamie Lynn is gonna be a wonderful mother! And I am so happy to see both that Jamie Lynn and Britney are bonding, and that Britney is getting her life back on track. I also think if Britney is the old Britney again, then, yeah, Jamie Lynn should go to Britney for parenting advice. (thst is if she needs help)
