Hulk Hogan's Son Sent to Jail

It's hard to say whether celebrity status helped or hurt Hulk Hogan's son, who has been sentenced to eight months in jail.

Nick Bollea, 17, pleaded no contest to charges of felony reckless driving that caused the August 2007 car crash that left his best friend, John Graziano, in critical condition.

This comes on the heels of a lawsuit against the Hogans, filed by the Graziano family, who claim that Hulk and his estranged wife wife Linda knew about their son's tendency to speed and drive recklessly. They also blame Hulk for supplying Nick and John with alcohol the day of the crash.

Nick, who appeared in the reality TV show Hogan Knows Best, will be required to complete 500 hours community service, in which the judge told him to do something "that reflects what John did in his service to our country as a Marine." Other conditions of the plea deal include that he not be allowed to drink any alcohol and his driver's license will be revoked for 3 years.

Because he's a minor, Nick will not have a felony conviction on his record once he turns 18 later this summer.

After receiving his sentence, Nick was immediately taken into custody.

The Hogans — who spoke on Nick's behalf during the court session — did not address reporters while leaving the courthouse, but Nick's attorney said that he was "happy" with the sentence.

Does Nick's punishment fit his crime? Tell us what you think.

I think that the victom should not have gotten into a car with Nick if he knew he was drunk. He brought this on himsef. They both are a falt. It ust so appened that nick did not get hurt. He is serving his time fairly. That is enough punishment for that crime. There is to many people blaming Nick when everyone involved should be to blame. Just because he is who he is the #1 suspect. I dont think that is fair to Nick again he is not all a falt they all had the power to say no I dont want to do this.

absolutely not... he should been given years... the sentance should be kept on his record and his father should be charged and do time as well...

This whole situation makes me so angry with his parents! Shame on them both. What type of a human being turns someone else into a vegetable and then has the balls or the right to say well he was a negative person anyways? WOW! Your real sorry aren't you NICK?!! His parents should be ashamed of raising such a brat with no respect for the simple fact that Nick's bad choice destroyed John Graziano's life and now he is imprisoned in his body for the remainder of his life. SHAME SHAME SHAME on you!

OH POOR LITTLE NICK HOGAN! Give me a break! He is a loser!!!! He has no class & I hope we never have to see him or his family on t.v. again. He should have been charged as an adult and his parents should be held accountable and have to pay millions to the Graziano family.

His parents are to blame for not realizing that he was and is to immature to be able to "Race" cars in the first place. Has he or Brooke ever even had a "Real" Job?? I don't think so ... they were allowed to live a life of luxury simply because their dad is Hulk Hogan. Shame on Hulk & Linda for not making their children learn what real life is like. Nick can't even pronounce the word "Reality" correctly! He is getting off easy & I don't feel sorry for him at all. Who almost kills someone and basically makes that person a prisoner in their own body... and then turns around and says "He was a negative person"? He is not sorry what he did. That is truly sad and his parents should bury their heads in shame over raising such a loser

what a reckless baby and his parents are making it worse. They needed to hear a phone conversation saying how sorry he was for his friends injury not how he misses the boat! The writing was on the wall for a long time. This is a chance to turn himself around another bout would make him a 3 time looser

I strongly believe Nick got what he deserved. It is about time we address the issue of stars getting special treatment when they break the law; while in the mean time, we have to obey it.

At one point in all of our lives we all have done something crazy and broke the law, however, some of us got away with it while others paid the price. I think that maybe the sentence was to harsh. His friend knew what his and Nicks actions would lead to and if liquor was involved this is the result of that. As for his friend John I think that his parents are looking for a dollar.
