Katherine Heigl Caught Littering
Katherine Heigl is a litterbug.
After lunching with her mom at P.F. Chang's in Santa Monica recently, the actress had to sweet-talk her way out of a ticket for tossing her cigarette on the ground right in front of a policeman on a bike.
"The officer told Katherine to pick up the butt and throw it away in the trash, 10 feet away," the source says. "He added that he'd fine her next time he catches her tossing trash on the sidewalk."

I toss cigarette butts on the ground all the time. It is just a teeny tiny butt. I am worse than Katherine because I even toss soda cans and bottles out of the car window. I have even tossed dirty diapers out of the windows.

I can't believe there are people here trying to make us believe that smoking isn't terrible for you.
If the ordinary penalty for littering in that area is a ticket, then she should have gotten a ticket. If the police would have given anyone else a warning first, then that's fine. Bottom line, preferential treatment for celebrities in the eyes of the law sends a bad message. -- Suze
