Selena Gomez believes that True Love Waits; she even has the phrase engraved on the purity ring she proudly wears.
And since her mom, Mandy Teefey, 32, became pregnant with Selena when she was just 15 — she split from her dad, Ricardo Joel Gomez, five years later — it's a message that carries even more significance with the 16-year-old star of Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place.
"I'm going to keep my promise to myself, my family and God," says Selena, the rumored girlfriend of teen pop star Nick Jonas.
An insider adds: "Selena's very level-headed, and she's taken her mom's life lessons into account. I don't think Mandy has anything to worry about."

It doesnt mean anything. Really. Its just plastic I'd bet money that many (if not all) of the disney stars wearing those rings are going to have sex before 25 or 20. If they really dont want to have sex before then...whatever, i dont care, its cool, but DONT SHOW IT OFF! Keep it to yourself! Not everyone has to know about your private sexual life.
The thing is, Disney has to portray their stars as "pure", so its a shame a genuine expression is now actually a bussiness decision. This is ridiculous! Well, it doesn't mean she's gonna wait til marriage! the ring says TRUE LOVE WAITS. Meaning she could fall in love now, or next year.. If that's true love to her then she most likely will do "it"
