Will Smith's Son Nabs Karate Kid Lead
Will Smith's son will be washing the car, painting the fence and sanding the deck.
Jaden Smith will star in a remake of the 1984 kit The Karate Kid.
The 10-year-old, who made his movie debut opposite his father in The Pursuit of Happyness, will travel to China next year to make the film. Although it's filming abroad, it will borrow elements of the original — featuring Ralph Macchio (Daniel) and Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi) — in which a bullied boy stands up for himself with the help of a mentor.
The film will be produced by Jerry Weintraub, who launched the original franchise, and Will's production company, Overbrook Entertainment.
The original film was followed by two sequels in 1986 and 1989. A subsequent film — The Next Karate Kid — launched the career of Hilary Swank.
Jaden, whose mom is Jada Pinkett Smith, will next appear in Keanu Reeves' The Day the Earth Stood Still, which hits theaters Dec. 12.

I think he is talented but to young for the part. if they are going to remake the movie at least do it with someone around the same age as Daniel-son. i don't think they should re-make the movie but whatever.... good luck Jay.......
