Coroner: Paula Abdul Fan Committed Suicide

January 20, 2009

Two months after an extreme Paula Abdul fan was found dead near the American Idol judge's home, a coroner has ruled that the woman committed suicide with prescription drugs.

Paula Goodspeed — who appeared on season five of Idol — was the woman found dead in her car outside Abdul's Los Angeles home on Nov. 11. Officials initially suspected suicide, but the coroner's office had been waiting on toxicology tests.

Earlier today Assistant Chief of Coroner Ed Winter confirmed that Goodspeed died after of a prescription drug overdose. The report didn't specify which drugs. He added that Goodspeed did not leave a note.

In December, Abdul broke her silence and said that Goodspeed had been a "stalker-fan for about 17 years" and had attempted suicide on another occasion under similar circumstances. "It was devastating and tragic, and there aren't enough feelings that I can articulate without getting into a whole plethora of things," Abdul told Good Morning America.

In recent weeks Abdul has backed off criticism of Idol producers, who she had claimed put Goodspeed on the air despite warnings that she was an obsessed fan.

One psycho committing suicide because of another psycho!

A hidden danger of prescription drugs is that they can make you more depressed. Google Joan Gadsby-she wrote an excellent book on the subject. These prescription drugss are just as addicting as street drugs and just as hard, or worse, to get off of. I think Paula was a victim of the pharmaceutical drug industry. And it is not fair what happened to Paula Abdul-Ms Godspeed never have been allowed on Idol-it destroyed her self esteem.

so how come when Heath Ledger overdosed on prescription drugs it was an accidental overdose, however, and this time it suicide. I am sorry but you put the drugs in your body then you kill yourself...intent or not. I guess Heath had to be "accidental" or all those people would have missed out on insurance payouts as they dont' pay if you committ suicide.
