Star Tidbits: Mariah's Man Lands a Job

  • Buh-bye Jerry Springer, hello Mr. Mariah Carey! Nick Cannon has been named the new host of America's Got Talent. Apparently the peacock network is gaga over Mariah's husband — the network chief, Ben Silverman, says this is the first of "multiple projects we are looking to do with Nick at NBC." The show returns for a fourth season this summer.
  • Jessica Biel hung out with the geek squad over the weekend. Justin Timberlake's lady hosted the Scientific and Technical Oscars in Beverly Hills. Highlights? Hearing the actress pronounce things like "anamorphic de-squeezers." Hugh Jackman's job — hosting the real Oscars on Feb. 22 — sounds so much better.
  • While photos of Madonna posing with her new boy toy — aspiring model boy toy Jesus Luz — in a 46-page spread in W magazine hit the Internet, her last love interest — superstar Yankee Alex Rodriguez — admits that he used steroids earlier in his career. Hmmm... wonder which of Madonna's play things is having a better day.
  • Lastly, what's old is new again. Britney Spears has rehired her former assistant Felicia Culotta, who was featured prominently in Britney and Kevin Federline's reality show, Chaotic. So what has Felicia been up to? Working for the Jonas Brothers. Which means? Probably helping Joe flatiron his hair.
