Miley: No Weirdness Between Me & My Pop
Teen queen Miley Cyrus doesn't like to hear comments insinuating there's something icky between her and her famous father.
In her new memoir, Miles to Go, the actress/singer says that it bothers her when people suggest there's something inappropriate about her relationship with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
"The media has said some stuff about my dad and me being too close and too cuddly for a father and a daughter," the 16-year-old star says in the book. "For me and my dad it's not weird at all."
She adds that she loves her father (who plays her reel-life dad on Hannah Montana) and "we don't let other people tell us what expressions we're supposed to have on our faces when we take a picture together!"
Buzz about their relationship began at the time of her now-famous Annie Leibovitz shoot for Vanity Fair. In addition to posing for some semi-nude photos, she was seen reclining against her father with his arm around her shoulder.
She also opens up about how toward the end of the second season of Hannah Montana she fell into despair. A typical bout of acne turned into something bigger -- what she refers to as a time of "self-hatred."
Miley also says that she gets hurt reading Internet stories that criticize her, saying that some people are "so full of anger, hatred and bitterness."
The book, which was co-written by Hilary Liftin, hits store shelves in April.

miley is a good person, and so is her dad. just because they are closer to each other than most people does not give anyone the rite to say stuff like that. i personally dont like hannah montanna. but that does not mean i dont like miley. she is awesome and i respect the way she stood up for herself. and everyone just needs to shut up. because let everyone do there own.

Though the relationship between them is very, almost unusually, close, it would be like you and your dad. If you're not close to your dad, don't critisize Miley's relationship, because it's something to be proud of, being close to your daddy and all. I think that it's good that some teenagers don't mind having their parents in their lives. After all, they're the people who gave us life!
One thing, does she have a mom? No one ever sees her. People need to lay off. Even if they're not complete Miley/Hannah fans, some things are too personal to judge! -- bubble G.
