Heath Ledger's Music Videos to Debut

March 17, 2009

Music videos directed by the late Heath Ledger will soon be released.

Two videos that the late Aussie star filmed — his last directorial work — will debut this year.

Modest Mouse plans to release the animated video for "King Rat," a bonus track from the band's 2007 "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank." Heath became interested in the project after meeting singer Isaac Brock in Australia.

"Heath and I have a mutual friend, and when we were in Australia, my fiance and some of us in the band went out on a boat with him and his family and friends and talked about the idea," Isaac has said. "The idea sort of dropped, but then he just sent me an email saying that he wanted to do it."

Also, a video for Grace Woodroofe's cover of David Bowie's "Quicksand" is scheduled for release. The music newcomer is releasing her debut album, which is produced by Ben Harper.

Heath died of an accidental drug overdose in January 2008. In February, he won an Academy Award for his supporting actor role in Dark Knight. His parents and sister accepted the award on his behalf.

The last film that he acted in — The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus — will be released in September and was completed with the help of actors Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell.

He wasn't addicted to drugs. His doctor prescribed them to be taken like that. It was a fatal combo. I should know because i am his biggest fan. I can't wait to see the videos!!!

YOU ASK YOURSELF, WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN? I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE VIDEO, I'M SURE ITS REALLY GOOD, JUST LIKE HEATH WAS.

It is so tragic that Heath died the way he did; the same with Anna Nicole. Addictions to prescription drugs cause just as much harm as addiction to pharmaceutical drugs. These two would be alive if they had smoked a bong hit, instead of swallowing pills to an early grave.
