Miffed Nicollette Sheridan: Sayonara, Desperate Housewives!

April 14, 2009

Nobody enjoys getting fired — and Nicollette Sheridan is no different.

The Desperate Housewives star, whose character Edie Britt is being killed off after five seasons, has some choice words for show creator Marc Cherry for sending her packing.

"[Killing Edie] was a risky decision that could have devastating ramifications," Nicollette complained to TV Guide magazine. "Somebody up there really wanted her dead. I think whoever Edie represented in Marc's life was somebody he didn't like. And he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction."

Nicollette also felt Cherry ignored her by not speaking about her in interviews or by adding her image to the opening credits of the show.

"When you have a jewel, why not polish it and put it out there for all to see?" she asked.

Nonetheless, the actress says that when she heard her character was getting bumped off, she said, "'OK, sayonara. It's been a great ride. Thank you.'"

Despite the bitterness, Nicollette told the mag she's read to move on.

"When the show started it was such a different beast," she said. "It was exciting and dangerous and funny and edgy and bizarre "It started feeling a little complacent, and that was very frustrating."

Her final episode will air April 19 and will include many flashback tributes to the character.

I am so happy that Edie is leaving. She always caused so much drama for the other housewives. I thought she was gonna be kicked off when she tried to hang herself, but no Carlos just had to save her.

Nicollette will be missed!

A housewife used to be someone who stayed at home and took care of the kids and bought household necessities not go out and **** every man who comes along! When you agree to appear on this type of SLEAZE show, you DESERVE what you get! Most of these divas and WAY OVERPAID anyway... This show is just SOFT PORN and WAY AGAINST MY LIFESTYLE and the average person's moral standards. I don't know what klind of people watch this kind of ****!

As a guy who likes this show I think it's a mistake too. Nicollette is the hottest of all the housewives, the best looking, best body and most sex appeal. I'll miss her!

Good Luck to her in getting another job for the 40 and older crowd. They are way to botoxed up. We'll see her in a year with bigger boobs, a tighter neck and big goofey teeth like Demi Moore!
-- Sandra Bullock

They are making a big mistake.
I will not watch anymore.
-- Deanna

Doesnt she die????

I think the show and Botlon are better off without the primadonna....

I'll miss her. She is one of my favourites and I agree that the show isn't going to be the same without Edie. I also wondered why Edie wasn't included in the opening credits...she's a really great character. The show will definitely be less interesting without her.

I agree with her, Cherry gave fans the middle finger by writing Edie off in the way he did. I hope the ratings continue to drop after this, they have been in a spiral since Season 1. I think Cherry should lose some weight, maybe he would be more happy.
