Kate Gosselin's Sis-in-Law: Money is Kate's Priority
Despite earning upwards of $75,000 per episode for their reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8, Jon Gosselin has had to empty his 401k because his wife, Kate, has been keeping the money for herself!
That is just one of the many blockbusting details that Kate ' s brother and sister-in-law Kevin and "Aunt " Jodi Kreider reveal in their world exclusive interview with Star.
In the May 25 issue, on sale now, Kevin and Jodi reveal how the TV mom of twins and sextuplets spends months away from home promoting her two books (one more, a cookbook, is due in October) and loading up on speaking engagements, for which she commands $3,000 an hour. She also charges fans $150 per person for special meet-and-greet tea parties and even makes fans pay $20 for autographs!
Note to Kate: The biggest stars in the world — including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie — don't charge for autographs.
It's Kate's lust for the big bucks that led to Kevin and fan favorite Jodi's sudden disappearance from the series after season three, they say. When Kate found out that TLC had offered Jodi and Kevin compensation for their appearances on the show, she freaked out and said no one else should be paid for appearing on the show but them, her brother tells Star
"Her reasoning for pushing me and Jodi away was because the more people you split it up between, the less there is!" Adds Jodi, "It has turned into a huge moneymaking machine...and the money has become priority No. 1 with Kate."
So much so, says Kevin, that she has an iron grip on the family finances — with precious little trickling down to Jon.
"He told me he had to empty his 401K to survive!"

Jon complain that kate is not giving him enough money... well GET A JOB... the money from the show is ment to provide and care for those 8 children not YOU.. you live in a nice home and go on great trips becuse of the children, if you want a fancy car or trips to bars and to buy drugs and the like then get a JOB.. Since when were these chidren and kate suposed to support you in a manner that YOU would like to become acustumed. My father raised 8 children and my Mother NEVER worked... he provided for us as best as he could and never did the oh poor pity me becuse I was so young when I has twins and then the sextuplets.. My dad was very proud of his 5 daughters and 3 son's and he wanted to provide for us.. he worked on a farm and worked in a factory and planted our own garden for food as well as he hunted and fished... the man worked 7 days a week 14-16 Hours a day... you sir are a slacker...

I BELIEVE EVERYTHING AUNT JODI AND UNCLE KEVIN SAY.
I BELIEVE NOTHING THE WICKED WITCH MAKES UP! SO HAPPY JON WOKE UP!! -- LALA
Sounds like Kevin and Aunt Jodi are a little upset that they aren't getting any of the $$$. As for Jon, maybe he shouldn't have spent all of that cash that he wasn't supposed to withdraw in the first place. Jon is getting exactly what he deserves and Keven and Jodi are trying to cash in on the 15 minute ride.

Kevin and Jodie want money and fame and are using their relationship with Kate and the loser to get it They are just pissed that they are not on the show anymore. Family is suppose to stick together but they are just a bunch of backstabbers. I can understand why Kate doesn't have anything to do with her family because she knows she can't trust them.

It seems like the result has been Jon womanizing...spending crazy...cars, trips etc. You don't see that with Kate...
Jon is bring much upon himself -- LDE

Have you ever been told a story that made you indignant? Then, some time later, you hear one piece of information that was left out of the original story. Suddenly you find that this one piece of data changes your entire take on the matter - leaving you feeling rather sheepish to have jumped so quickly to judgement.
Since we don't know all the facts, we're just wasting a lot of time complaining and pointing fingers at Jon and/or Kate. After all, no one is being forced to view the show, read articles in magazines and newspapers about them, or even skim over all these comments about them on the internet. I find it rather ironic that all this controversy arose just as the fortunes of the Gosselin's appeared to change for the better. For the first years they struggled and managed by strictly budgeting. Once the money from the show began to come in and they could finally afford a home with enough space and privacy for their large family, I think it changed how some viewers and media felt about them. It makes me sad that the Gosselin's are enduring such a terrible time. Let's hope they benefit from some therepy, and wish them well! -- JOB
I think everyone should mind their own business. It takes two to create problems, they're human just like everyone else. We all make mistakes, hopefully they learn from them. Peace
