Baby Boy for Lance Armstrong
Lance Armstrong is going to need an itty bitty helmet.
The cyclist welcomed his fourth child — a son named Max — in Aspen, Colorado on Thursday. The little guy, who weighed in at 7lbs. 5oz. and measured 20 inches long, is his first child with girlfriend Anna Hansen, whom Lance started dating in July 2008 after they met through charity work.
"Wassup, world? My name is Max Armstrong and I just arrived," Lance wrote in a post on Twitter. "My Mommy is healthy and so am I!"
The Texan also posted a photo of the boy (sticking his tongue out!), a snapshot of a doctor and nurse from the hospital and set up a Twitter account for the newborn.
The fact that Max is here at all is a bit of a miracle. Following a well-publicized battle with testicular cancer -- that spread to his brain, lungs and abdomen -- in the late '90s, he was told he was unable to have children. Despite this, little Max was conceived naturally.
Max has three half-siblings — Luke, 9, and twins Grace and Bella, 7 — whose mother is Lance's first wife, Kristin Armstrong.
The new dad returned to competitive cycling earlier this year — following a three-year "retirement" — and will attempt an eighth Tour de France title next month.
