Cher Speaks Out About Daughter's Sex Change
Now that Cher's daughter has gone public about changing sex, the singer is speaking out about the news.
A week after Chastity Bono — known as Chaz to family and friends — announced he had been begun the female-to-male transition, Cher released a statement of support for her only daughter, whose father is the late Sonny Bono.
"Chaz is embarking on a difficult journey, but one that I will support," Cher says. "I respect the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny and although I may not understand I will strive to be understanding. The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child."
The support is a drastic and happy change from when Cher first learned Chaz was gay and responded by kicking her child out of her house.
Chaz, who will not be conducting interviews until the transition is complete, began the multi-step process shortly after turning 40 in March. The procedure consists of a psychiatric evaluation, hormone injections, and the removal of the breasts. Chaz will also then decide whether or not to have surgery on his genitalia.
With all these changes in his life, it's comforting that the one thing remaining constant is his mother's love and support.

I THINK THAT THIS WILL STOP HER FROM BEING ABLE TO FEEL ANYTHING SEXUALY. I KNOW PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD A BREST IMPLANT AND THEY HAVE A FEELINGS AND ALSO WHEN YOU HAVE A HISTORECTOMY ALOT OF PEOPLE LOOSE THERE FEELING OF SEXUALITY.... THIS IS TRUELY SAD. CHASS NEEDS PRAYER AND SO DOSE CHER.

I knew Chaz was going to be gay, when asked at age 6 on The Sonny and Cher Show by Cher, "Who do you want to be more like, me or your dad?" Chastity smiled and said, "I want to be like Daddy". Soon he will be like Sonny. God bless you, Chaz. Be happy.

This story is just weird & sad! I feel bad for Cher actually. Why would a 40 something year old woman want to be a man? It just doesn't make sense.. why can't she wear a strap on??
