Angelina Opens Up About Her Childhood & Raising Kids
Angelina Jolie's wild child past may have been much tamer if she realized how lucky she was growing up.
"I would have been less self-destructive," Angelina says, realizing her privileged upbringing lies in stark contrast to the struggles of refugees in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Angie, who spoke at a ceremony honoring refugees at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, has vowed to raise her children with Brad Pitt — Maddox, 7, Pax, 5, Zahara, 4, Shiloh, 3, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11 months — differently.
"I hope if I raise them with a more accurate view of the world than I was raised with, then they will naturally be better people," Angelina told NBC's Ann Curry. "And I'm sure my children will be visiting and learning from refugees in the future."
In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Angelina added, "Some of my kids are from countries that have seen conflict. I usually just explain to them that there are other families in the world that aren't as fortunate as ours and other kids.
"And so I tell them that it's important for all of us to do what we can and then go to these places and understand what's happening. So I think they're just being raised that this is the normal thing to do.... Hopefully I'll take them to as many countries as I can and raise them with an education of the world."

Wow. These are pretty interesting comments. Role model, yeah right. Who would want their daughters to be homewreckers. Humble, you've got to be kidding me. Classy. If classy is trashy, I DON'T WANT TO BE CLASSY. Sure she's a great actor but, a good person she isn't. She kissed her brother for goodness sakes. What's classy about that?

I'm sure she really does try to do for her kids what she thinks is right, but children need stability & routine in their formative years, not jet setting.She also does seem to be trully generous regarding the welfare of the world at large,however,it's too bad she couldn't extend that same kind of compassion to the women she hurt by being a serial homewrecker.Now there are rumors of her being insecure in her relationship.Oh well, that's karma. Ever heard the expression "do unto others"!!!
