Karina & Maksim to Dance Together Despite Split
Talk about awkward!
After ending their engagement, Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will still honor their commitment to dance together at the Emmy Awards later this month.
A press release from CBS states that the exes will "perform in a segment honoring dance in reality television" during the Sept. 20 telecast of the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards.
The Ukrainian duo will also both appear in this season of Dancing with the Stars. But because they work with different partners and rehearse separately, they'll only have to see one another during the live shows.
Neither has spoken publicly about what went wrong between them. A Twitter post Maksim wrote on Monday — saying "What was meant to be a 'life long book', turned into a 'chapter' ... and now that 'chapter' is finished" -- has since been removed from his page.
