Janet Jackson Blames Jacko Doc for Death

November 16, 2009

Janet Jackson blames her late brother Michael's personal physician for his death and says he should no longer be able to practice medicine.

Five months after the King of Pop died after suffering cardiac arrest, Janet publicly blames Dr. Conrad Murray for her brother's death because he gave the singer the powerful anesthetic propofol soon before he expired.

"He was the one that was administering," Janet told ABC's Robin Roberts. "I think he is responsible."

In August, the Los Angeles County coroner ruled that Michael's death was a homicide caused by "acute propofol intoxication." Murray remains the focus of a manslaughter investigation because he admitted to administering the drugs, though he maintains that he neither prescribed or gave anything to Michael that should have killed him.

Janet — who shared memories about her big brother in a September interview — reveals that she was in her Manhattan home when her assistant called to say Michael was rushed to the hospital on that fateful day. Since then, "a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him."

And some days, she still can't wrap her head around the news.

"It just didn't ring true to me," she said. It felt like a dream. It's still so difficult for me to believe."

The interview will air Wednesday on ABC News at 10pm ET.

Michael was a big boy he knew what he was doing. Why doesn't his family just except that he wasn't perfect. And stop trying to blame everyone else for what he did.

i hope some good comes out of this sad situation. doctors need to be held accountable for what they do (that includes giving wealthy patients whatever drug they want). i hope the jackson family (michael's children most of all) will be able to heal.

that doctors was clearly in the wrong but at some point over the years Michael should have cleaned himself up with the help of his so called loved ones - where were they when he so clearly needed help all these years???

Janet all we can hoppe is that your faith continues to be a blanket around you as you continue to learn to cope with the loose of your beloved brother who was truly a genius in so many ways-you were so connected we can see it in your performances and personal demeanor.Continue to be the lady that your Mother raised you to be and the role model your niece and nephews need.

I agree the doctor should have his license revoked, but in the end, it should be Michael Jackson responsible for Michael Jackson's death. He chose to be a raging drug addict and not seek any help. The way he was going, if it weren't Dr. Conrad, it would have been some other doctor. Michael left three children without a father because he chose drugs over them.

I totally agree
