Ex-Girlfriend of Rihanna Beau Matt Kemp: The Abuse Was Real!
Following Star's exclusive that Rihanna's new boyfriend, Matt Kemp, had been accused of past abuse, a rep for the L.A. Dodgers ball player denied our story and told Star that the victim — Felisha Terrell — made false statements against Matt in her restraining order and subsequently apologized to him for doing so. But that's absolutely untrue, says Felisha's lawyer.
An attorney for Felisha — a former Ford model turned actress — denied that his client lied in the June 25, 2008 restraining order and lashed out at the comments made by the jock's rep.
"The temporary restraining order was granted because of an actual and real threat," David D. Diamond said over the weekend. "The matter was quietly resolved until Mr. Kemp's agent began making false public statements."
Adding: "[My] hope is that Ms. Terrell tells her story, because it is a compelling tale of betrayal, abuse and survival."
Star broke the shocking news in our Feb. 1 issue that Rihanna's new boyfriend was accused of abuse — and we even ran the legal papers to prove it.
Soon after, Matt's manager, Lonnie Murray, sent us the statement now being shot down by Felisha’s attorney. In it he said: "Matt Kemp dated Felisha Terrell about two years ago for a short period when they moved in with each other. Approximately one month later he decided to end their relationship. She chose to file a complaint and shortly thereafter, on her own accord, decided to drop it based on the fact that the statements made within were false. She has very recently written in text messages to Matt apologizing and that she has no issue whatsoever with Matt and found it humorous the possibility of this becoming a story... Matt Kemp is a consummate Midwestern gentleman who has never displayed any act of violence towards a woman."
Clearly, that didn’t sit well with Felisha or her attorney.
It's been nearly a year since Rihanna was brutally assaulted by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown. In our Feb. 1 issue, her friends discuss being "fearful" about her new relationship.

I don't know what to think of her. I think she's loosing some fame and is wanting the attention by playing a victim.

You "attract" what YOU are! Rihanna, herself, is a violent person; I NOW have NO-DOUBT Rihanna started that "mess" with Chris Brown, God helps whoever SHE dates!

Wow. When is she gonna get it through her head? Honestly, I don't think anyone will feel sorry for if another incident like the last one, occurs again. She should drop him. But I guess you can't tell someone that when they are blinded by love.

I still wonder why Chris Brown didn't file charges on her for being abusive. She has a very bad temper and probably hit him so much, one day he lost it.
