Jon Hamm Is In Love With Being Unmarried
On Mad Men, Don Draper is picking up the pieces following a bitter divorce from wife Betty. But the actor who portrays the superstar ad man — Jon Hamm — says he'll never find himself in the same situation.
In the Aug. 9 issue of Star — on sale now — we report that Jon and longtime love Jennifer Westfeldt are happily unattached — and have no plans to ever tie the knot.
"There's been a lot of divorce in both Jennifer and Jon's families, so they are really turned off by the idea," an insider tells Star. "They say all the time that they already feel married, so why go through with a wedding?"
And in a new interview with the St. Louis native, he confirms that he's not marriage minded.
"I don't have the marriage chip," he says in this Sunday’s issue of Parade. "But Jen is the love of my life, and we've already been together four times longer than my parents were married."
As for adding kids to the mix, they're leaning against it.
"I like kids but I also like the option to close the do," says the hunk. "Becoming a parent is a whole other life, and it doesn't stop."
