In the wake of 20-year-old Daniel Wayne Smith's untimely death, celebrity decorator Bobby Trendy — the former co-star of E!'s The Anna Nicole Show — tells Star's Shira Levine he's concerned about Anna's ability to get past her heartbreak.

"Daniel was the only solid thing and the only confidante she had," Trendy, 27, tells Star. "Everyone else is a paid friend and paid servant. She really doesn't have any family other that her son. When you are famous like that you need a confidante that you aren't paying — and that was Daniel.

"He was such a perfect son. He never talked back, was never argumentative. When I was at the house, he was always downstairs reading. He always kept to himself; he was just very quiet and introverted."

Despite Anna's history of public outrageousness, Bobby maintains that behind the scenes, she was consistently a loving mother with Daniel's best interests at heart.

"With all her drama in her world and her life she was the perfect mother and very protective of him," says Trendy. "She did that show for her son. She really wanted to make her show and be successful for her son."

"I think one's world could crumble from a loss like this. This is such a devastating thing for her. I don't know if Anna's going to be able to recover. She's such a giver. I don't know why she has lost so much in life. She gives to you like no tomorrow. She just gives and gives and gives."
