Official Court Papers: Pamela Anderson's $1.2 Million Problem

Pamela Anderson says she's not drowning in debt, but we have the California court documents that claim otherwise!

We reported last week that numerous creditors say the former Baywatch babe owes more than $1.2 million. Pam hit back at our report, calling it "crazy" -- but we have the official paperwork.

Pamela commissioned major remodeling on her Malibu Colony home over the past year — but the construction companies involved say she hasn't gotten around to paying her bills. Bruder Construction alone has a lien against her property for $674,043, while others say they are owed anything from less than $2,000 to more than $87,000! And Pam's money problems don't end there — the California tax board says she is more than $252,000 in arrears!

In a statement, Pam downplays her massive amount of debt and denies she's in financial distress. "After paying millions of dollars to build the house I continue to get bills," she says. "My lawyers are reviewing the work done to see if the bills are fair. If they are they'll be paid. If they aren't, they won't be."

As for $252,360.39 lien from the State of California, she admits: "Mistakes may have been made in calculating taxes owed and we are now in the process of ensuring that any taxes owed are paid."

Although Pamela claims she's not deep in debt, Star also reported that she's not the money-making machine she was in her Baywatch heyday. Besides last year's short-lived E! reality series Pam: Girl on the Loose, she's made only brief appearances since 2008 in three low-budget movies, the Australian version of the reality series Big Brother and the canceled NBC sitcom Kath & Kim.

And things could get worse for the one-time bombshell, Hollywood PR guru Michael Levine tells Star. "People who make a career out of sex kitten roles run out of rope when they hit their 40s. It's inevitable."
