Star Exclusive: Richie Sambora's Father Dies Of Cancer

Star has exclusively confirmed that Richie Sambora's father, Adam, 70, died on April 20 due to cancer. "That's true," Michael Guido, Sambora's attorney, tells Star. "He had been ill with cancer." Star exclusively broke the news in June that his dad was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Star had reported that while Sambora was in England on June 13, preparing for the final concert of Bon Jovi's European tour, his mom Joan called — and the news wasn't good. Adam, a moderate cigarette smoker, had gone to the doctor complaining of chest pains and was diagnosed with early stage lung cancer. "It hit Richie so hard," a source close to the Sambora family said at the time.

A short time before June, Richie Sambora's girlfriend, Denise Richards, had been told that her own mother, Joni, now 53, was suffering from a recurrence of the kidney cancer that had been in remission for the last five years.
