Selena Gomez's path to being a licensed driver has hit a roadblock: She failed her driver's test!

The Texan — who now lives in Los Angeles where her series Wizards of Waverly Place films — took the written portion of the California driving test and didn't get passing marks.

"It's hard!" she told Conan O'Brien Wednesday on the Tonight Show. "I'm from Texas, so of course it was easy — we had 10 questions there. Here, they give you 50 questions and... I didn't pass!"

Conan, who also recently took the test when he relocated to the West Coast, then grilled the 17-year-old fashionista with questions from the California Driver's Manual. The audience called out hints to the actress, who — in her southern drawl — said: "Can y'all come with me when I take my test?"

Wizards kicks off a new season Friday on the Disney Channel -- and she also has her new album, Kiss and Tell.
