Exclusive: Shenae Grimes' Secret Heartache

Making your way alone in Los Angeles is daunting for any teenage girl away from home for the first time. And it was no different for Shenae Grimes, who made the move from Toronto last summer to star on 90210. Now Star has learned exclusively of the secret heartache that fueled the actress' off-the-rails behavior.
In our Feb. 9 issue — on sale now — we report that Shenae's dearest hometown friend, Cory Mintz, 20, was one of three young men killed last July.
"Shenae was my son Cory's best friend; they might have even dated a little bit," his dad, Toronto businessman Allan Mintz, tells Star. "When Cory died, it was incredibly hard for Shenae. She was beyond heartbroken."
The death of her friend sent her into a downward spiral, an insider says. Adding: "The news was devastating to her and began a dark period in her life."

Calling her an actress is a disgrace to the rest of the acting community. I've seen her attempts...not worth watching.
