Sheryl Crow Adopts Baby Boy

You read it here first! Sheryl Crow announced today (Friday, May 11) that she's adopted a baby. But this came as no surprise to our readers who heard about it in a front-page story in Star's latest issue.

Sheryl's adoption just became final and now she's the mother of a new baby boy. "Hey, everybody, I am so excited to share with you guys that I've adopted a little boy...he was born two weeks ago," Sheryl wrote on her Web site, www.sherylcrow.com. "His name is Wyatt (after my dad) Steven (after my little brother and Scooter) and we are enjoying some very private family time."

Sources say Sheryl, 45, has been aching to be a mom for years, and loved being a mother figure to ex-fiancé Lance Armstrong's kids. But when the couple ended their relationship in 2006, Sheryl started looking at other ways to fulfill her maternal desires.

Sheryl, no doubt, has the full support of BFFs Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox. Jen, who had many long talks with Sheryl about adopting, will probably be first in line to see the new baby, too.
