FASHION WEEK FALL 2008: Behind The Scenes!

February 4, 2008

Feb. 4, 2007
Despite New York's cold and wet weather, Fashion Week went on with a multitude of celebs sitting front-row at Bryant Park. Angie Harmon and Anna Wintour were spotted at the Oscar De La Renta show Monday, while Tyra Banks stopped traffic at the Betsy Johnson show.

Over at the W Hotel Lounge, Star's Julia Allison caught up with Juno's Allison Janey to chat about the Pamella Roland show. Janey said she flew into New York for the Red Dress show on Friday and walked the catwalk with other celebs to raise awareness about women and heart disease. Janey joked she'd rather learn paragraphs of dialogue for a film than walk the runway!

Celebs Go Red!
Feb. 1, 2007

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2008 kicked off Friday, Feb. 1 with plenty of star power. Celebs like Heidi Klum, Sara Ramirez, Maria Menounos, Jenna Fischer and Lisa Rinna strutted their stuff on the catwalk for the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection fashion show to raise awareness about women and heart disease.

Singer Joss Stone was also on hand for the big event and she spoke with Star's Mirelle Argaman about walking the runway!

Why did you decide to walk at Red Dress?
I thought it was a nice thing to do, obviously, for all the girls out there in the world and for everyone who has heart issues. I think it's good to be able to do things like this — especially when all I have to do is get dressed and walk a little bit. Can't really say no to that! It's a nice thing to do. I get to wear a posh dress and get my makeup done for the day. It's all a very good thing.

How do you like your dress?
I love it. I do. It fits me. Usually when I try on these dresses I need different sizes. These dresses are usually made for tiny little people and I'm not one of those tiny little people. They usually have to cut things up and put things on.

You're so used to walking around without shoes. Are you scared of wearing heels?
No way am I wearing heels! I'm not going to even wear shoes! This is a dress thing, it's not about the shoes. If this were a shoe thing, I would wear the shoes.

Have you ever stepped on something really sharp?
Yes, I have. I've had splinters all the way up to my knees. But who cares. I just can't wear shoes, especially not when you're into a song and you have your eyes closed and you're feeling it. You don't want to think about falling over. So I eliminate the possibility of falling over by taking them off.

How do you stay grounded?
I just don't party. I guess you just go home. Once you go home, then everything's great and you can chill.
