The Girl From Monaco

What's it about: While defending a rich woman on a murder charge on the French Riviera, a criminal-defense attorney (Luchini) gets caught up in a passionate affair that threatens his case.
Steer clear: The attorney has been assigned a bodyguard because his client is the mother of a mobster. The bodyguard (Roschdy Zem) is a quiet guy who knows everyone and handles business quietly and discreetly. He warns the lawyer (because he knows the girl in question) - and gets caught up in the lawyer's life in unexpected ways. This French film is surprisingly witty at times, but also moves mysteriously, taking you places you never expect. Luchini and Bourgoin create sparks, but it's Luchini, as the self-assured lawyer who begins to question his own abilities, who holds your attention.
Long story short: This is a twisty, sex tale.
