Exclusive: The Truth Behind Melissa George's Departure from Grey's
First it was Isaiah Washington. Then Brooke Smith. And now Melissa George.
Joining the list of rocky exits from Grey's Anatomy is the Australian actress, whose last day filming was Tuesday. And although she's publicly said that she left the show to "do something else," a source tells Star that she'd had it with show creator Shonda Rhimes.
After being courted by Shonda to play lesbian character Sadie Harris on the floundering ABC show, Melissa finally agreed to take the role. But soon after signing on for eight episodes with the option of a more permanent arrangement, she noticed that her role was being cut considerably.
"So many pages were being cut from my character every week," Melissa told a friend. "I was supposed to have a full-blown love affair with Callie (played by Sara Ramirez), but Shonda said the network was making too many notes on the storyline. At first she commiserated with me, but then when I'd complain, she wouldn't even talk about it. My agents calls went unanswered, and I wasn't just going to sit there. Shonda promised me something and she didn't deliver. That's when I decided it's time to go."
Melissa went on to tell her pal that Shonda is "a nightmare. She's really lovely — until she wants to punish you."

Why would they just get rid of her like that. They should have thought more about adding another character before actually hiring her. Now a whole bunch of plot lines are left hanging (like with Brooke Smith)

I didn't really like Sadie... She wasn't a big impact on the show so it doesn't really matter if she leaves... However, I still watch the show because of Callie, and Sloan's characters very HOT.

I absolutely love the show. With that being said, I cannot stand the whole Izzie and Denny death story line. I actually fast forward through all those parts. I didn't even realize she was sick until I saw a preview. As far as Sadie goes, she wasn't memerable. I only remember one time when she saved little Grey and admitted she was the one who "broke" McSteamy. Other than that, no big deal and I agree I am getting kinda sick of the whole gay stuff. That's fine, but it seems to just be all the time, every episode.

Although I enjoy Grey's Anatomy and the variety of characters I do believe the show's creator and producers are trying to hard to give the viewers what they think they want.
The character of Sadie was just sort of thrown into the mix and then poof. Gone. Personally I enjoyed the original story with Torres and the heart surgeon. I am also a bit put out by the female doctor who they have sort of been forcing into Burke's shoes. Again I appreciate what they are trying to get accross but man someimes the character build is just plain bad. Due to my satelite provider (DISH) and the local channel which Grey's is broadcast on are in (non)negotation of a rate increase I won't be watching Greys unless it is in syndication. -- Shay - Centralia WA
No, did not like her. They have too many characters and am getting sick of all the gay and dead stuff. Will quit watching for awhile.

WELL I JUST STARTED WATCHING GREY'S AND I AM HOOKED!!! I JUST
LOVE IT AND THINK IT IS GREAT!!! I WAS CONFUSED WHEN CALLIE GOT IT ON WITH MCSTEAMY...I THOUGHT, ISN'T SHE SUPPOSED TO BE GAY (AFTER SHE WAS WITH THAT GAY WOMAN DR). THE ONLY THING BAD IS I HAVE TO CLOSE MY EYES WHEN IT GETS BLOODY BECAUSE IT IS SO REALISTIC!!! PS I HOPE PATRICK DEMPSEY AND MEREDITH GET TOGETHER...A LOVE LIKE THEIRS IS SO RARE ON A NIGHTTIME SOAP. -- New Fan
So here we go again with ANOTHER so called STAR of a popular sitcom or TV show crying over the shows Creator or writer or producer..What is wrong with people..Why BITCH and COMPLAIN about ANYTHING?..What, you're NOT getting paid enough??..There aren't enough M&M's in your dressing room??.No matter what the problem is..Why the hell complain?..If the ones running the show liked you ENOUGH to put you in the show why don't you just SHUT THE HELL up and enjoy the ride...Wish someone chose me to be on their TV SHOW and I was making THOUSANDS if not MILLIONS a damn day...Instead I'm making comments over you idiotic stupid famous people and the annoyance you all send out..P.S. I am getting paid nothing for my in-put..

At one time, Grey's Anatomy was my most favorite show. Not any more, I just wish they would go back to the earlier days when it was exciting to watch. Coming back from the dead and the story line with Callie is crazy!!!!!!

Katie Holmes should do a guest role on Greys anatomy.
