Ugly Betty to Go on Hiatus
Wilhelmina Slater is not going to be happy about this one.
Ugly Betty, once a prime-time gem for ABC, is being yanked from the network's Thursday night lineup beginning March 26 and will be replaced by Christina Applegate's Samantha Who? and the new Megan Mullally-Cheryl Hines comedy In the Motherhood.
While the network says that American Ferrera, Vanessa Williams and company would "definitely be back to complete its season," it said that it wouldn't be until the conclusion of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who?, which could mean June — outside of the regular TV season.
The show, which is co-produced by Salma Hayek, moved its production from Los Angeles to New York for the start of its third season.

I have to say that I have been very disappointed that Ugly Betty was taken off with no warning. I have been watching it since its first episode and if it does not return it will be one more time slot that I will go to another station and watch something else. TV just is not what it use to be that is for sure!! To bad.

I will still watch Ugly Betty when it returns, but I'm extremely dissapointed in "In the Motherhood" I thought I would watch it because the commercials leading up to it made it look funny, but it was a dud...totally hated it, hope it gets cancelled!!!!! Bring back Ugly Betty and get rid of the other dumb show!

Love the cast, direction, stories. Betty's family cohesion is a wonderful example. Love the Latin angle, and inclusion of diverse people. There's a lot more to this show than meets the eye. Big Mistake, this hiatus.

Don't really get why their doing this. The other 2 shows would have been great sumer runs, leaving UB to finish correctly. Big mistake if it doesn't come back.

My family is in LOVE with Ugly Betty! We were so surprised and upset that it was pulled! I hope we can watch again...SOON!!

I love Ugly Betty and have been planning my Thursday evenings around it for quite some time - I don't think I can go on if it doesn't come back - why do they always cancel the best shows????

AAAAaaarrrrrgghgggghhhh!!! Why do they do this? This is the same crap they pulled on Men In Trees, another wonderfully quirky and fun show that I looked forward to. I'm sure this is ABC's screwed up way of ditching the show.

ABC is making such a HUGE and I mean HUGE mistake for pulling Ugly Betty like that. It is my absolute TV show and the only reason why I even bother with ABC on Thursdays!!! Will NOT watch these so called replacement shows. Bring back UB asap, why wait till June when these other shows will obviously bomb!
