Woody Harrelson Marries Longtime Love
Woody Harrelson has f-i-n-a-l-l-y done the deed.
After dating for nearly two decades, the actor married his longtime girlfriend, Laura Louie, on Sunday in Maui. The intimate event was attended by family and friends.
Laura was Woody's personal assistant for two years before they started dating. They have three daughters — Denni, 15, Zoe, 12 and Makani, 2 — whom the couple refer to as their "goddess trilogy."
The actor's wedding comes as a surprise as he's long been outspoken about his feelings against marriage. In 1997 he told Barbara Walters, "I don't believe really in that institution... You can't really say you're gonna have and hold someone 'til death do you part because you don't know. I don't think it really takes into account how people change." Though he also spoke of his commitment to his partner and their family, saying, "I care a lot about Laura, I care about my kids. I'll never, you know, I'll never abandon any of them. It'll never happen."
This is the second marriage for Woody, who was briefly married to Nancy Simon, daughter of playwright Neil Simon, in the 1980s.
Offer the couple your well wishes below.
