How Khloé Kardashian Celebrated Met Gala Monday With Her Family

While some of the Kardashian women spent Monday, May 5, at the iconic Met Gala in New York City, Khloé Kardashian was home in Los Angeles cheering them on.

The 40-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum was on mom duty that day, spending time with her and ex-fiancé Tristan Thompson’s two children — True, 7, and Tatum, 2 — as well as her niece, Chicago, 7, the youngest daughter of sister Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The Good American founder posted several videos on her Instagram Story of the little ones playing outside by the pool and reacting to the Met Gala red carpet coverage on TV.

Kendall Jenner was the first sister to arrive on the carpet, wearing a matching grey jacket and skirt combo by Torisheju. In one clip, Khloé cheered, “Woohoo! Yes!” for the 29-year-old model before the kids began chanting, “Auntie Kenny! Auntie Kenny!”

Kim, 44, was next to appear on the carpet, wearing a dress designed by Chrome Hearts styled with a large hat. “Woohoo! That’s your mommy, Chi,” Khloé exclaimed in a separate clip, to which the little one responded, “Wow, yay, Mommy!”

Kylie Jenner was the last of the sisters to arrive sporting a Ferragamo dress. In another clip on her Instagram Story, Khloé gushed, “She looks beautiful, Auntie Kylie!”

The Khloé in Wonder Land podcast host wasn’t the only family member to sit out from one of the fashion industry’s biggest nights of the year, as sister Kourtney Kardashian and family matriarch Kris Jenner were not in attendance.

Meanwhile, Kim’s 11-year-old daughter, North, came to New York with her — which has become a tradition for the mother-daughter duo.

“Every time I come to the Met, I love bringing my oldest daughter with me just to see me get ready,” the Skims founder told Emma Chamberlain in a red-carpet interview for Vogue. “And all her aunties are in the hotel, and we are all getting ready together. It’s a fun few days.”

Kim added that while North does have some strong opinions, she wants her mom to wear what makes her happy.

“She’s a big critiquer, but it’s pretty good, you know, her critiquing. But you know, just be yourself, right?” the businesswoman remarked. “I think shes in a really positive place, like vibe, right now, where it’s just like, ‘Hey, even if that’s not my style, I’m not going to critique that because just be you, and if you like that, then that’s what you should be into.’ So, I love that energy, and so she was such a positive force tonight like it was great.”

In a November 2022 episode of The Kardashians, Khloé dispelled a rumor that she was never invited to the Met Gala, telling cameras, “I have been invited in the past. I just opted not to go. I’m not big on red carpets. I think I’ve made that very clear.”
