How It Started

On April 29, 2011, Prince William wed Kate Middleton, now 43, at London’s Westminster Abbey — nearly a decade after they met at Scotland’s University of St Andrews. They became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge until the queen’s death in 2022, upon which they assumed the titles Prince and Princess of Wales.

Kate Lightens Up

For their 14th wedding anniversary on April 29, the couple returned to the country where they fell in love. During a working visit to Scotland’s Isle of Mull, Kate debuted a new hair color. “She likes to switch it up from time to time, and with summer coming, she was keen on going with a lighter caramel shade,” says a source, noting she finds “the hue makes it easier to disguise those gray hairs that have been creeping in.”

Twinning In Skinny Jeans

William and Kate wore complementary looks — denim and tweed — upon their arrival in Scotland for a two-day stay, which kicked off with visits to a popular artisan market and community hub and a tour of a local croft.

Happy and Healing

A year after announcing she’d been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, Kate — cancer-free since January — engaged with locals at an outdoor learning session in the Ardura Community Forest on April 30. Says a source, “She’s looking and feeling better than she has in a long time, and her stamina has continued to improve.”

“Wonderful to be back on the Isle of Mull. Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome,” the royal couple wrote alongside a new photo of them embracing in Scotland — where they’re known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay — released by Kensington Palace on their anniversary. Reports reveal they spent that night at a self-catered holiday cottage on the island.
