Teddi Mellencamp was a striking figure on the red carpet at the An Unforgettable Evening 2025 Gala in L.A. April 28. Dressed in a chic dark suit and chunky jewelry at the benefit to raise funds for women’s cancer research, the 43-year-old proudly displayed her shaved head and scars from multiple surgeries to treat melanoma that had spread to her lungs and brain.

Earlier that evening, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum had posted more pics on Instagram, reflecting back to when she’d learned about tumors “the size of plums” in her body just 76 days earlier. “Since that day, I have had multiple surgeries, had rage from the steroids, felt very sick, laughed a ton, ridden horses, loved on my kids and felt great,” said the mom of Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and 5-year-old Dove, with Edwin Arroyave.

She has also wept. “When I first looked at this picture, at the scars on my head and my arm, I cried,” Teddi admitted, before adding that her sorrow had turned to strength. “I felt a warmness rush through my body and felt so much peace,” she continued. “Peace from the incredible support system I have in my family and friends. Peace from the outpouring of love from y’all on here. Peace in knowing my story could help somebody save their life.”

The response was immediate, with fans calling Teddy “beautiful” and an inspiration for sharing her story. “Teddi recently got good news that the tumors are shrinking,” an insider tells Star. “She’s proud of her scars, because they’re a testament to her strength. She wants more of life, and she’s in fighting mode.”
