Tom Cruise Providing Support to David Beckham Amid Family Drama
The bromance is back on! An insider tells Star that Tom Cruise and newly minted knight Sir David Beckham have rekindled their once-strong friendship — and that the Mission: Impossible star, 62, is providing a shoulder for the soccer great to cry on during his family troubles.
“Tom has been checking in and telling David to hang in there, but also be tough,” says the insider, adding that David remains estranged from son Brooklyn, his eldest child with wife Victoria, since the 26-year-old skipped his 50th birthday in May.
“It’s a bewildering situation for the Beckhams right now, David needs all the support he can get.”
The bad blood goes back to Brooklyn’s 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, where feelings were hurt on both sides.
“Tom tells David to focus on the positives,” says the insider. “If it means painful decisions like putting his son in exile, then so be it.”
