The hits keep on coming for Alec Baldwin — and not in a good way. Recently, ABC announced that Martin Short is replacing the 67-year-old as the host of the network’s Match Game revival, a gig Alec had until 2022. (Production was suspended in the wake of the 30 Rock alum’s accidental shooting of cinematographer Haylena Hutchins on the set of his western, Rust.)

“He wasn’t even consulted or considered for the Match Game reboot and that hurts,” an insider tells Star, adding, “It’s a firm message from producers and Hollywood that he’s become a has-been.”

That bad news comes on top of Rust’s long-delayed release to tepid — or worse — reviews. While any profits will go to Haylena’s husband and children, critics have called the film “painful” to watch, knowing what happened on set.

The source says Alec — who aired his side of the story on the TLC reality show The Baldwins — is “a broken man” amid his pile of troubles, adds a source. “He carries so much baggage with him, it’ll be an uphill battle for him to fight his way back.”
