Lady Gaga’s Copacabana Beach Concert Draws 2.5 Million — Largest Crowd Ever for a Female Artist
Abracadabra! Lady Gaga’s free show on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 3 was a record-breaking milestone for the singer, with an estimated 2.5 million Little Monsters watching her hit the stage — making it the most-attended concert by a female artist to date.
“Nothing could prepare me for the feeling I had during last night’s show,” Gaga — who performed hits including “Poker Face,” “Alejandro,” plus songs from her new album, Mayhem — reflected in a sentimental post on Instagram the next day.
